Haha, I must be missing Korea too much, am spouting a word or two too much of Konglish here and there lately :)

You know what is amazing? The fact that sometimes, and more often than not these days, media actually turn to fan sites for juicy tidbits to spin into their news story. Truth be told, I guess BYJ related stories get much attention, for very very good reasons, and that translates to SALES. So I guess that explains why they'll scrap for every bit of story and watch for every little angle they can use to present a story on BYJ. A certainly most remarkable thing it is, this BYJ draw power.

Anyway, anyone see this article posted on cafedaum? It's probably been too "not worthy" to deserve a blazing fast translation yet, but other than a famous blogger, there happens to be quite a few ladies who can't resist the former Mgr, and now Director Yang's charms, so I couldn't help re-posting it here.

[이데일리 SPN 김용운기자] 양근환 BOF 이사는 배용준 팬들에게 유명인사다.

배용준의 매니저로 8년간 일하면서 배용준과 동고동락 해왔으며 배용준의 일거수일투족을 누구보다 잘 알고 있는 사람이기 때문이다.

때문에 양 이사는 배용준의 한일 양국 팬들로부터 곧잘 사인 요청을 받곤 한다. 한류스타 배용준의 사인만이 아니다. 양 이사 본인의 사인을 요구받는 경우도 적지 않다.

양 이사는 이데일리SPN과의 인터뷰에서 “저와 함께 사진을 찍거나 제 사인을 요청하시는 팬들도 있다”며 “하지만 이는 제가 담당하고 있는 배용준이라는 배우에 대한 관심이지 제 자신이 팬들에게 부각되는 건 아니다”고 선을 그었다.

양 이사는 “배용준씨가 참석하지 못한 행사에 소속사를 대표해서 대리 참석해 행사를 진행한 경우가 종종 있어 팬들이 많이 알아보고 반겨주신다”며 “팬들 가운데는 제 생일을 챙겨주시는 분들도 계시는데 살짝 민망하기는 해도 기분은 좋다”고 덧붙였다.

하지만 양 이사는 “스타 못지않은 인기를 얻는 매니저는 사실 어불성설이다”며 “팬들이 자신이 좋아하는 배우에 대해 담당 매니저를 통해서라도 대리만족을 느끼고 싶어 하는 것임을 잊지 말아야 한다”고 강조했다.

Don't know enought Korean to safely get myself to a bathroom without hassles, but someone told me the jist of this story is that Dir Yang, the ever loyal friend/partner who's been by BYJ's side for 8 years, is said to command as much respect as BYJ. That he is the cause of as many fainting/swooning ladies as BYJ himself.......! That fans surround him and blind him with flashbulbs all the same? Hmmmmmm.....you agree?

Not to take anything away from anyone, he's up there in the "HOT" scale no doubt, but err......this is a little stretch, don't you think? And if they want to really make their point, I suppose they could've come up with a super great photo of him to juxtapose against HRH. Ahhh...but that calls for attention to details, and well.......you know. Yep, yep, with those photos they've chosen, it's a no-brainer who reigns supreme :) (haha, I think I stole that line from that IRON CHEF show!)

But you know what? The attention and spotlight on the director is well deserved, whether he likes it or not. But for his sake, I wish it would've been a story of his dedication, the long hours he's put into help shape/create BYJ's career, or the role he had in supporting BYJ through the tougher bumpier stretches of the road they've travelled together.

Oh well...there's nothing to this, I'm just voicing aloud short thots for the day....
